Internet Job Scams
Internet job scams and internet business scams can be found all over the net. It makes it difficult to find real opportunities and prosper. But if you are looking to make money online here are some of the most common types of internet scams to avoid.
1. Post Links to Google
You have probably seen those ads that are all around the net claiming you can, work at home posting links to Google and make up to $25 per link. These sites sell you a starter kit telling you just how to set everything up and start getting paid.
The starter kits are just a piece of junk that don’t help you out at all, and how could they? They are telling you how to get into a job that doesn’t exist! $25 to post a link, come on it would take like 5 seconds and anyone could do it.
The real reason this Google work at home scam has caught on is that it appears to be backed by a fortune 500 company. But in reality Google is not backing them and in fact Google is involved in some massive legal battles with many of these large scam companies for using the Google name.
2. Envelope Stuffing
Envelope stuffing is an old scam that has been around since the 1929 crash of stock market and just recently it has appeared online as well.
You get a letter or email saying that you can make a living by stuffing envelopes at home. They also claim that you can make $1-$2 per envelope; all you need to do is to sign up and send them some money for a starter kit.
If they reply back to you they will probably tell you to send letters to others about their opportunity and you’ll get paid if you recruit others to this scam and they pay for a starter kit.
3. Email Processing
These internet home based job scams are similar to envelope stuffing. You are told that you can make a living by simply replying to emails with some standard text and statements. All you have to do is to pay for their training kit and be on your way.
What these internet job scams won’t tell you is that any legitimate online business can automate everything an email processor would do at a fraction of the cost. Similar internet business scams like Envelope stuffing if you get any instructions at all it will probably be to recruit more “victums”.
4. Craft Assembly
Another one of these internet business scams is the craft assembly scam. You are told that you will get paid to assemble crafts. Once you pay for the package and get all of the assembly equipment and instructions you can start working and send the finished project in to get paid.
What these internet business scams will not tell you is that your craft will always be denied because they just so happen to always, “miss the quality guidelines”.
5. MLM Marketing (some of them)
These internet business scams are actually a little harder to spot because not all MLM marketing programs are scams. All MLM marketing programs will charge you to join their program and sell their products.
But the ones who have products that can’t be sold (or are very hard to sell) are considered to be scams. In which case the only way to make money is to recruit others and tell them what a great opportunity it is to start their own business. It is a pyramid scheme.
6. Email Chain Letters
These are not really internet job scams because you are not “going to be working for them.” Instead you get a letter and are told to send money to members on a list then send the letter out to a few people and replace one of the names on the “get paid list” with your name.
The idea is that people will start sending you money once it is your turn to receive your far share. In other words pay a little bit now and get it back ten folds later on. The only problem is that it is a pyramid scheme and only the members at the top will see any money.
7. Internet Lottery
This is also not really one of these internet job scams, but it is a huge money scam. They send you an email saying you have won some international lottery and to just send some money in to claim your prize.
8. Inheritance
If you have any sort of email spam you have probably gotten this before. According to it you have inherited some gigantic fortune from a relative you have not heard of, you just need to send some money to claim it.
There are plenty of internet job scams and internet business scams to go around. To be safe do some research beforehand and don’t buy a starter kit or pay for training on how to do a job.
