Google Adsense Alternatives

Google Adsense alternatives can be great if you were kicked out of the Adsense program or if you just want to diversify your income a little bit. So, here are 8 alternatives to Adsense and how they work.

1. ADcenter

Microsoft has been trying to “steal the internet” from Google for years and the ad market is no different. Microsoft’s answer to Adsense is their own version of the program called ADcenter. This is a new major player online and offers promise. I plan on testing it out sometime in the near future on this website if I get accepted.

2. Yahoo Publishers Network

This is Yahoo’s version of Adsense. It’s a little older the ADcenter and is still only available for publishers in the U.S. Although I’ve never tried it, word on the street is that the ads are not as targeted as Adsense, but they do give you a bigger piece of the pie when it comes to revenue. So all and all it evens out to be somewhat competitive with Google.

3. Chikita

Chikita is similar to Google only the ads are a little more decorated with pictures and such. Another difference is that the ads are targeted based on what keywords people used to find your site. This means in order to show an ad on a page it must be found by a search query. If the majority of your traffic comes from the search engines this can be a great network for you, if not you might as well look elsewhere because the ads will rarely ever show on your site.

Another thing to note here is that it is mostly product related. If you have a site about cameras or automobiles or something similar you may find that it outperforms Adsense on your site. But like always test it out first.

4. Adbrite

Adbrite is more of a CPM network. Instead of paying you every time someone clicks on your ad this network pays you every time someone see’s the ad. If your visitors don’t normally click on ads or you want a more secure income then Adbrite is right for you.

5. Infolinks

Infolinks is not really one of those Google Adsense alternatives, but it is a great network which can help you squeeze extra money out of your site. It can also help you diversify your income a little and can be used alongside virtually any ad networks including Adsense and all of the networks on this list.

6. Azoogle

Azoogle is one of those Google Adsense alternatives with a catch. With Adsense you get paid every time someone clicks on an ad but with Azoogle you get paid every time someone clicks on an ad and does a specific action.

It’s a simple question, would you prefer getting paid $.50 every time someone clicks on an advertiser’s site or getting paid $5 every time they give their email to their advertiser after they click?

If you work at promoting the advertisers you may find that you make more with Azoogle then Adsense. But if people click on the site and then leave you will not make any money at all. Other networks such as commission junction, Clickbank, and Google affiliate network work this way.

7. AdsDaq

AdsDaq is another CPM network were advertisers pay you per impression rather than per click. It can be worth looking into when looking for Google Adsense alternatives.

8. Bidvertisers

Of these alternatives to Adsense I would not recommend Bidvertisers. I tried it before and had a bad experience. When I placed their code on my stock market site I got ads like, “make money on ebay” and “get money from the government”.

They claim you can filter the ads out, but it doesn’t work and even if it did you are constantly being bombarded with new irrelevant ads that you would need to constantly filter out, too much work for an ad company if you ask me.
