Automated Blogging Tools, What Are they and What Are the Pros and Cons of Them?

Automated Blogging is something new in the online world. These tools claim to be the answer to automated content for blogs for free! But before you dive in let’s take a look at what they are and what the advantages and disadvantages of using them are.

First of all here are a few different networks that let you take advantage of automated blog posting.

FreeTrafficSystem

This network only caters to wordpress blogs that are not set up with a free host. In other words you need to be pay for the hosting to plug it into the system. Once it is your blog will automatically be updated when new content comes into the system.

Articleranks

Articleranks is similar to the FreeTrafficSystem. However there are two major differences between them. For starters Articleranks allows you to automate content for statistic sites as well, not just blogs. You also have to have a blog/website that is at least 1 year old before you can join the network.

Unique Article Wizard

The Unique Article Wizard is the oldest of all these networks and it perhaps the father of automatic blogging tools. You can sign up with them as long as you have a article site or a blog

SEOLinkVine

SEOLinkVine is a new service that was created by the same people who created ArticleRanks. Its restrictions are probably very similar to Articlerank’s.

Submit Your Articles

You can sign up for this network as long as you have either an article directory or a blog.

How Do They Work?

So, how do these automated blogging tools work? Most people believe they take blog content from other sites spin it around and it ends up on your site. But that isn’t how they work at all.

Instead it is more like an article directory. Each of these systems charges people a monthly fee in order to submit articles to their system. The articles are spun to make many unique forms and submitted to a series of blogs in their network, i.e. your blogs.

In exchange for this the article writers get to put links into the article (either 2 or 3 depending on the network) which link back to their site.

You keep getting spun versions of this content as long as you keep the backlinks in the content. If you take the backlinks out you are automatically kicked out of the system.

Pros of Using Automated Blogging Tools

There are two advantages I see to using automated blog posting tools. First of all every little bit helps. It is a known fact that the more pages you have on a website the more traffic you can get from the search engines. And while one quality page may be worth 50 low quality pages there is a reason you see article sites that get tens of thousands of visitors to them every day. Quantity seems to have some power too.

Secondly with automated blogging does not take up a lot of time, so you can theoretically build and manage hundreds of them, even small sites will add up after a while.

Cons of Using Automated Blogging Tools

First of all it can hurt readership. Article directories don’t usually have the highest quality content on the web and those that do have content that can be found on hundreds of other sites. It is going to be a lot harder to market your blog and develop it into a brand if similar content can be found on other sites.

The second problem with automated blogging tools is that you will probably not get 100% unique content. A lot of these tools will create 50 unique versions of an article and then spread it across 500 sites, so while it is spun there are still 10 or so other sites that will have the same content as you.

Are Automated Blogging Tools Worth it?

This is a tricky question, I don’t use them personally but if you want to create a network of small blogs this could be a great way to start. I also see it as a fantastic way of getting a new article directory off of the ground.

But I don’t see anybody creating a massive site with a lot of regular readers by simply using automated blogging tools. If you want to build a high quality niche site I would not advice trying this, instead look into creating a content rich site with your own unique content, it is more work but worth the effort.

The choice is up to you, if it sounds interesting check it out, if it sounds weird or scammy just remember that you don’t need it to be successful.
